CAPES – Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior

CAPES is a Foundation within the Ministry of Education in Brazil whose central purpose is to coordinate efforts to improve the quality of Brazil’s faculty and staff in higher education through grant programs. CAPES is particularly concerned with the training of Doctoral candidates, Pre-doctoral short-term researchers, and Post-doctoral Scholars.

CAPES maintains a system of evaluation of graduate courses recognized and used by other national institutions.

CNPq – Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico

The National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq) is an agency linked to the Ministry of Science and Tecnologia (MCT), dedicated to the promotion of scientific and technological research and to the formation of human resources for research in the country. Its history is directly linked to the scientific and technological development of Brazil.

FAPESP – Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado de São Paulo

FAPESP is a public foundation, funded by the taxpayer in the State of São Paulo, with the mission to support research projects in higher education and research institutions, in all fields of knowledge.
