CAPES Evaluation

Via the assessment process of the postgraduate programs that lead to Master’s and PhD degrees and that are part of the National Graduation System/SNPG, CAPES (the Coordinating Office for the Training of Personnel with Higher Education), a body linked to the Ministry of Education, has been performing an important function in the development of education and of scientific and technological research in Brazil.

The results of the assessments, carried out every three years, indicate which programs will have their “accreditation” renewed by MEC, this being valid for the following three-year period and which programs will therefore be able to issue diplomas recognized by MEC as having nationwide validity.

The Production Engineering Graduate Program, (PPGEP) received the grade of 4 in the last CAPES assessment.
